Santa to the villages

In 1974, LCDR James D. Stiles and Captain Charles Clark - along with their spouses, Jane and Lynn - started the Santa to the Villages program. 

Starting in the fall, our chairs work with the surrounding village schools to start preparing for the gift delivery. Our members alongside Active Duty members and other spouses, help wrap gifts and prepare stockings for the children in the villages. The gift delivery will take place in November or December each year. The Spouses' Association of Kodiak, in collaboration with the Coast Guard, distribute gifts and holiday cheer to the families that live in these seven villages. 

Spouses get the chance to participate in this event from the land, air and sea in order to help Santa deliver these gifts. 2026 will be the 52nd year of this tradition. 

Santa to the Villages serves the following villages of Kodiak: 

• Akhiok 
• Old Harbor 
• Karluk
• Larsen Bay
• Port Lions 
• Ouzinkie
• Chiniak
